Introducing the Amplitude Beat Blaster!

A futuristic device used by FreQs to unleash waves of sounds trapped within note capsules. Each time a FreQ (that's you!) blasts a note capsule, more of the song is activated depending on what track you play. Tracks include drums, bass, vocals, guitar, FX and synthesizer.

Amplitude (2003)

Amplitude is the sequel to FreQuency and was released in 2003 on PlayStation 2.

Amplitude is a rhythm-action game in which a FreQ (the player) uses their Amplitude Beat Blaster to activate music trapped inside of note capsules. On each track, notes can be found in three different spots: Left, Middle and Right. FreQs can activate the music by lining up their Beat Blaster with the note capsule and pressing the corresponding buttons.

How to Play: In every song arena, you have color coded instrument tracks with a left note, middle note, and right note. From left to right the notes can be captured by pressing square(left), triangle(middle), and circle (right) or L1(left), R1(middle), and R2(right). Hit all the notes in succession to complete the track. Move on to the next instrument track without missing to accumulate a multiplier that will allow you build a higher score! If you miss a note your multiplier will start over and you will have to rebuild your multiplier. The amount of energy in your energy bar lowers any time a note is missed. When you hear Akrobatik say “Warning Energy low” the next note you miss is GAME OVER.

A player can activate a variety of power-ups in single player and multiplayer modes to take their game to the next level.

Remix Mode: Remix mode unleashes your musical creativity and sense of rhythm. Using Amplitude instruments and effects, you can remix the songs in the game. The result is a musical collaboration between the player and the original artists.
