Danny B is an electronic music composer known specifically for his work on Super Meat Boy and Canabalt among other independent video games. As a member of OverClocked ReMix, Danny contributed many video game remixes and became a judge to help evaluate other contributors. He is passionate about creating music for video games and we are looking forward to having his music on the new Amplitude!
A taste of what to expect from Mr. Baranowsky could include several of the following: robots, blippiness, 8-bit, electronic, and/or tunes of terror. His sound is so varied, it will be a surprise to see the style he chooses to feature in Amplitude. From melodic and calm, to sheer suspense and borderline panic, his style will fit nicely within Amplitude. He can go from one extreme to the next in the same song which is what makes Danny B. so captivating.
In contrast to his calmer songs, are songs like Once Upon a Pixel – KOOPA which merges terror and fright with a happy Mario theme. You will also find pleasure in Adam Atomic and Danny B.’s 8-bit version of Friday (originally by Rebecca Black.) This song is enough to get your body moving and be thankful it’s Friday, even if it’s not. I really like this version due to the blippiness and also because it has no vocals. The singing is left up to you!
Many of his soundtracks are made specifically for videogames and they vary so much but tend to linger more to the ambient side. If these songs represent what Danny Baranowsky will bring to the table, they will definitely take true advantage of the amazing atmospheres that the Harmonix Amplitude Team is working so hard to bring us. You could call it a match made in heaven.
